[6:00 pm BST] Learn the secret of Ghanaian cooking in Kay’s new online cookery class!

We are so excited for Kay’s new online class! She is a wonderful teacher, chef and story-teller. She will share the secrets to traditional Ghanaian dishes. This is your chance to learn a brand new cuisine, support an amazing cause, and eat great food!

The class will be conducted as an interactive virtual cook-along. All participants will be sent an Eventbrite confirmation email with a list of ingredients and quantities needed for the recipe, the equipment needed for the class, and a Zoom meeting link. If you do not receive the confirmation email please check your spam folder. If you are still missing information about the class please email hello@migrateful.org. The classes usually are 1.5-2 hours long. The chef will then lead the group step by step through the recipes; stopping frequently to answer questions, share anecdotes, and provide feedback on your dishes!

We are running virtual cookery classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, while we are unable to run our regular in-person events, as a way to keep connected and to support our chefs.

Kay’s cook-along dish will be Kay’s Lockdown Jollof Rice and Kelewele (spicy plantain with peanuts)

Message from Kay: “I grew up in the capital of Ghana called Accra with my Auntie who taught me how to cook. Life was difficult, but the cooking and food has always been important to me. In Ghanian food we always cook with pepper, onions, garlic, stock and lots of love. And this food reminds me of the people of Ghana who I miss dearly. I moved to the UK when I was 28, and now I am studying online at Bedford College ‘dignity and safeguard in adult social care’ and living with my little girl, Nana who loves to eat my food. I can’t wait to share it with all of you!”
