Chef Tina will teach you some of her favourite Filipino dishes followed by a sit down meal

Welcome to our family style cookery class!

This small-scale class for 12 participants is not socially distanced. For those seeking a Covid-secure cookery class, please see our online events.

This cookery class will be taught by the wonderful Sri Lankan chef Tina at the Mercato Metropolitano in London.

This is a family style cookery class where we will collectively prepare 4 – 5 dishes. Chef Tina will divide the class into groups with each one responsible for creating 1 of the dishes. You are also free to move around during the class to learn about the other dishes. Chef Tina will recap each of the dishes throughout the evening and at the end of the class so that everyone can learn about all of the dishes. You will also be emailed the recipes after the class.

A sample menu of the dishes that will be taught include:

  • Ukoy (Shrimp fritters)
  • Sinigang (Pork soup – this is a national dish!)
  • Pancit Guisado (Stir Fried chicken and vegetable noodles)
  • Kinilaw (Tuna ceviche)

This menu is includes meat. Allergens include: celery, gluten and shellfish. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements!

We will also be selling our beautiful Migrateful aprons! You can purchase them when booking your ticket (pick it up at the event) or before the cookery class starts at the venue.

A message from our Chef Tina:

“Hi I’m Cristina. I’m from the province of Bulacan which is close to Manila in The Philippines. I love to cook. My favourite thing to make is Inangit, sticky rice with coconut milk. This was my mother’s favourite dish and she passed it down to me. I’m the eldest of 4 and my mother taught how to cook perfect rice when I was 7 so that I could cook for my siblings when she went to work. I’m excited to share Filipino food with people in this country. Teaching a class and sharing my food and my culture with new people fills me with joy and brings back so many happy memories of the home I had to leave behind.”

Payments made through Paypal can take up to 48 hours to have the order confirmed. To guarantee your spot on a cookery class we recommend using a debit or credit card.

Please note, we only process refunds and ticket transfers if we are notified 7 days before the class takes place.
