We are so excited for our first class with Lina. She is a fantastic cook, teacher and store-teller. She will share the secrets to several traditional Syrian dishes followed by a sit-down meal.
“My name is Lina from Syria, mother of three children, I came to the UK as a refugee in 2017 to escape the war in my country to protect my children and secure them a better future. From childhood I loved craftwork, I learned painting, sewing and knitting wool. In addition, I learned the art of cooking since I was fourteen, I was standing next to my grandmother and my mother and noticing how they cook, and then I tried to try and help my mother in cooking until it became my favourite hobby. I spend endless hours cooking. I love it. I am obsessed with the smell of delicious food. If you know anything about Syrian food you know you are in for a treat.”
Huge thanks to Arch 504 for so kindly letting us use their space.

This is a family style cookery class where we will collectively prepare 3 or 4 dishes. The chef will divide the class into groups with each one responsible for creating 1 of the dishes. You are also free to move around during the class to learn about the other dishes. The chef will recap each of the dishes throughout the evening and at the end of the class so that everyone can learn about all of the dishes.
