SUMMARY:Filipino Cookery Class with Tina | LONDON | Pop Up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Tina will teach you some of her favourite Filipino dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nFilipino cuisine is a vibrant reflection of the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage\, blending Malay\, Spanish\, Chinese\, and American influences into dishes bursting with flavour\, texture\, and heart. From the tangy\, comforting Sinigang soup to the fresh\, zesty Kinilaw\, every dish tells a story of family\, tradition\, and togetherness. Filipino food is all about sharing – hearty\, flavourful meals made to bring people together around the table. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from Chef Tina: \n“Hi I’m Cristina. I’m from the province of Bulacan which is close to Manila in The Philippines. I love to cook. My favourite thing to make is Inangit\, sticky rice with coconut milk. This was my mother’s favourite dish and she passed it down to me. I’m the eldest of 4 and my mother taught me how to cook perfect rice when I was 7 so that I could cook for my siblings when she went to work. \nI’m excited to share Filipino food with people in this country. Teaching a class and sharing my food and my culture with new people fills me with joy and brings back so many happy memories of the home I had to leave behind.” \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nPancit Guisado (Stir-Fried Corn Noodles) | Vegan; Celery\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Soya\nKinilaw (Tuna Ceviche) | Fish (Tuna); Fish\, Gluten (Barley) \nSinigang (Sour Pork Soup – a national dish!) | Meat (Pork); None\nUkoy (Shrimp Fritters) | Fish (Shrimp); Crustaceans\, Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Soya\n\nThis menu includes meat (pork) and fish (tuna and shrimp). Allergens include: celery\, crustaceans\, eggs\, fish\, gluten\, soya. \nPlease let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements so our team can be aware ahead of the class. Kindly note that we do not substitute ingredients to accommodate dietary needs\, so please only book into classes that suit your dietary preferences. \nJoin Tina’s cookery class in London to learn to make authentic Filipino dishes and celebrate the flavours and stories brought to the UK through food. \n \n\n\n\nTHE CLASS FORMAT \nOur cookery classes are family-style – meaning everyone works together to prepare the dishes as a team. \nWhile you’ll be asked to choose one dish to focus on\, you’ll have the opportunity to move around the kitchen\, help with other dishes\, and learn from each recipe. It’s a fun\, social\, and collaborative way to cook! At the end of the class\, you’ll sit down with the chef\, class facilitator and volunteers to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve created together.
