Think of it like a technical rehearsal at the theatre. This means it may run for longer than a normal class and involve some stop/starting. You’ll work together with other participants to prepare each of the dishes\, before sitting down to share a meal together. \nA message from our Chef Naziha: \n“My name is Naziha. I am from Algiers the capital of Algeria\, in the North of the country on the Mediterranean Sea\, sandwiched between Tunisia and Morocco. \nAt home in Algeria\, I was the spoilt youngest child\, so the only cooking I did was ‘play cooking’ with my beloved Auntie\, who gave me miniature cooking equipment and encouraged me to copy her. At University\, I became more interested in food and started asking for recipes from my relatives. I also learnt to prepare sweets for Eid. I love to cook Algerian food that I’ve enjoyed eating and have an inbuilt instinct to replicate the flavours and smells of my childhood. \nIn Algeria\, I graduated from University in Computing management and Accounting. I came to the UK 15 years ago to join my husband who is my best friend’s cousin. We met when he was visiting my friend and fell in love! \nMigrateful has encouraged me to have more confidence to express myself and share my passion for Algerian food. I feel happy when cooking for people – feeding them delicious food is my love language and I get great pleasure when people enjoy eating what I’ve prepared. I look forward to cooking with you!” \n \nWe’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders: \n\nUnlike normal classes\, training classes cannot be booked using gift vouchers. We are also unable to accommodate any ticket transfers from non-training classes.\nPlease see our refund/cancellation policy: Migrateful Ticket Refund Policy | Migrateful\n\n\nPlease see our allergens policy here: Food and Allergens Policy\nWe recommend using a debit or credit card to pay (paypal takes 48 hours to be confirmed).

At her suggestion\, I started cooking school and soon I was creating new dishes on my own. I then trained at the Trinidad and Tobago International Hilton Hotel and worked as a sous chef at the Carlton Savannah Hotel when Queen E stayed there in 2009. When the hotel closed\, I first started cooking for homeless people and then for children with additional needs. I became a mother figure for many of the kids and some of the older people. I have been volunteering for Praxis charity for the last year\, a charity that helps support people on their immigration journey. \nIn addition to cooking\, I am passionate about music\, dancing and laughing! SUMMARY:Saudi Arabian + Uyghur Cookery Class with Sana |Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Sana will teach delicious\, authentic Saudi Arabian and Uyghur dishes followed by a sit-down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nSaudi Arabian and Uyghur cuisine blends rich Middle Eastern spices with Central Asian traditions\, creating vibrant\, flavourful\, and comforting dishes. From hand-stretched noodles and dumplings to sweet sesame and date desserts\, the food is colourful\, social\, and made to be shared. Meals are deeply communal\, reflecting the warmth\, hospitality\, and culinary heritage of these cultures. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from chef Sana: \n“Hi\, My name is Sana. I moved here from Jeddah\, Saudi Arabia in 2013. I have lived the majority of my life there. Culturally I am Uyghur\, an ethnic Muslim minority located in Central Asia (now part of China called Xinjiang). The dishes I teach in my class are a mix of the two cultures I come from. I learned to cook from my Mum. She used to call my sisters and me to assist her with cooking. I was her main helper\, especially when it came to pulling noodles. \nWhen I was in high school and had our summer holiday\, my mum trusted me enough to cook for the family and I insisted she write me the recipes with every little detail. I got paid for it! My mum taught me to cook several cuisines from around the world but my favourites were Saudi & Uyghur. Even though I have explored hundreds of dishes living in London\, Laghman is the most delicious dish (In my personal opinion!)” \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nJawawa (Uyghur Dumplings filled with Lamb or Chard) | Meat (Lamb) and Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sulphites\nCrunchy Chilli & Garlic Oil | Vegan; None\nLaghman (Hand-stretched Noodles with Braised Vegetables) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Sulphites\nFoul Qulabah (Fava Bean Dip) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nLuqaimat Alqadi (Saudi Doughnuts with Sesame and Date Syrup) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sesame\, Soya\n\nThis menu is mostly vegetarian but contains one dish with meat (lamb)\, with vegetarian filling options. SUMMARY:Algerian Cookery Class with Amel | LONDON | Pop up
DESCRIPTION:In this session Amel will teach delicious\, authentic Algerian dishes followed by a sit-down\, family-style meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nAlgerian cuisine is a beautiful blend of North African\, Mediterranean\, and French influences — rich in spices\, seasonal vegetables\, slow-cooked stews\, and warm breads. From fragrant soups like Chorba Frik to comforting tagines and delicate pastries\, Algerian food is deeply social\, made to be shared\, and full of heritage. With flavours shaped by centuries of cultural exchange\, every dish tells a story of community\, generosity\, and home. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Amel: \nHi my name is Amel\, I am from Sidi Bel Abbes in Western Algeria. Our city is nicknamed ‘Petit Paris’ because there is a strong French influence. I wasn’t allowed to cook growing up because my parents wanted me to focus on my studies. I was a teacher in Algeria but wasn’t able to continue teaching when I moved to the UK in 2015. After I met my wonderful husband\, we quickly had children and I began to spend more time at home. During this time\, I realised my passion for cooking and baking. I cooked so much for my friends and family that they told me to stop as they feared they were getting fat. In the future\, I want to open my own bakery where I can share Algerian food and culture with people in London. Algeria is extremely multicultural and culturally rich\, which is something I am very proud of. I have always been a daydreamer and I really value the freedom to pursue my dreams here in the UK”. \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTagine Zitoun (Olive Tagine with Chicken and Meatballs) | Meat (Chicken and Lamb); Egg\, Gluten (Wheat)\nChorba Frik (Vegetable Soup with Freekah and Carraway) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Gluten (Wheat)\nBourek (Tuna Pastry Parcels with Cheese) | Fish (Tuna); Eggs\, Fish\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nRekhsas (Algerian Semolina and Nigella Seed Flatbread) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Milk\nSamsa b-louz (Fried Almond\, Sesame and Honey Pastries) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sesame\, Tree Nuts (Almonds)\n\nThis menu contains meat (chicken and lamb) and fish (tuna).
