In Iranian culture\, preparing food for the family is often an important part of home life. To my surprise\, I learned very quickly\, and before long people were complimenting my food and asking for my recipes. I believe I owe this to my mother. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people enjoy a meal that I have prepared. \nThrough my cooking\, I hope to share not only the flavours of Iran but also the warmth\, hospitality\, and traditions that are such an important part of Iranian culture.” \n \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change) \n\nMirza Ghasemi (Aubergine Dip) | Vegetarian; Egg\nAdas Polo (Sweet and Fragrant Lentil Rice) | Vegetarian; Milk\nAsh Reshteh (Noodle Soup) | Vegetarian; Milk\, Gluten (Wheat)\nBorani Esfenaj (Spinach Dip) | Vegetarian; Milk\, Tree Nuts (Walnuts)\nSambusa (Spiced Potato Filo Parcels) | Vegan; Gluten (Wheat)\nTas Kebab (Tangy Chicken with Quince and Plums) | Meat (Chicken); None\n\nThis menu contains meat (chicken) but is vegetarian-friendly\, with 5 of 6 dishes meat-free. SUMMARY:Ecuadorian Cookery Class with Judith |Veg Friendly | LONDON|Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nEcuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography\, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. It combines fresh seafood\, tropical fruits\, vegetables\, grains\, and spices to create vibrant\, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Ceviche\, Tigrillo\, and Empanadas highlighting the warmth\, creativity\, and communal spirit of Ecuadorian food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Judith: \n“My name is Judith\, and I am from Ecuador\, a beautiful country in South America. I grew up in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas\, an area located between the coast and the mountains\, so we had the best produce. I grew up in a big family where food and music were always part of our joy – we loved getting together\, sharing meals\, and dancing. In Ecuador\, you can find four seasons in one day by travelling from one part of the country to another\, and that means that you can experience many different types of food in the country. When I came to England\, I started to do some voluntary work in a ‘healthy living’ community group\, and I used to run a session on healthy eating – this is reflected in my menu today. Teaching others about Ecuadorian food helps me feel close to my country and reminds me that even far from home\, we can still celebrate who we are and connect with others through culture and food. Each dish I create carries the soul of my homeland that is inspired by the unique beauty of the Amazon\, where the jungle speaks and nature is sacred. My hands work with love\, honouring my roots and sharing a little piece of living nature with the world.” \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTwo Ceviche | Fish (Prawns) and Vegan; Celery\, Crustaceans\, Mustard\nTigrillo (Plantain Hash) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Milk\, Peanuts\nEstofado de Carne y Chocolate (Beef Stew with Chocolate) | Meat (Beef); Celery\nEstofado de Vegetales (Golden Vegetable Stew) | Vegan; Celery\nEmpanadas de Viento (Cheese-Filled Pastries) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nColada Morada (Warm Fruit Punch) | Vegan; None\n\nThis menu contains meat (beef) and fish (prawns) but is vegetarian-friendly (5/6 dishes are meat-free). SUMMARY:Algerian Cookery Class with Amel | LONDON | Pop up
DESCRIPTION:In this session Amel will teach delicious\, authentic Algerian dishes followed by a sit-down\, family-style meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nAlgerian cuisine is a beautiful blend of North African\, Mediterranean\, and French influences — rich in spices\, seasonal vegetables\, slow-cooked stews\, and warm breads. From fragrant soups like Chorba Frik to comforting tagines and delicate pastries\, Algerian food is deeply social\, made to be shared\, and full of heritage. With flavours shaped by centuries of cultural exchange\, every dish tells a story of community\, generosity\, and home. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Amel: \nHi my name is Amel\, I am from Sidi Bel Abbes in Western Algeria. Our city is nicknamed ‘Petit Paris’ because there is a strong French influence. I wasn’t allowed to cook growing up because my parents wanted me to focus on my studies. I was a teacher in Algeria but wasn’t able to continue teaching when I moved to the UK in 2015. After I met my wonderful husband\, we quickly had children and I began to spend more time at home. During this time\, I realised my passion for cooking and baking. I cooked so much for my friends and family that they told me to stop as they feared they were getting fat. In the future\, I want to open my own bakery where I can share Algerian food and culture with people in London. Algeria is extremely multicultural and culturally rich\, which is something I am very proud of. I have always been a daydreamer and I really value the freedom to pursue my dreams here in the UK”. \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTagine Zitoun (Olive Tagine with Chicken and Meatballs) | Meat (Chicken and Lamb); Egg\, Gluten (Wheat)\nChorba Frik (Vegetable Soup with Freekah and Carraway) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Gluten (Wheat)\nBourek (Tuna Pastry Parcels with Cheese) | Fish (Tuna); Eggs\, Fish\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nRekhsas (Algerian Semolina and Nigella Seed Flatbread) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Milk\nSamsa b-louz (Fried Almond\, Sesame and Honey Pastries) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sesame\, Tree Nuts (Almonds)\n\nThis menu contains meat (chicken and lamb) and fish (tuna). I am from the lovely island nation of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and I am the mother of two daughters. My cooking journey started over 25 years ago when I was just 10. My mother had to go to work\, leaving me to cook for my two younger siblings. At first\, I made some pretty awful dishes but with my mother’s help and encouragement\, I got better. At her suggestion\, I started cooking school and soon I was creating new dishes on my own. I then trained at the Trinidad and Tobago International Hilton Hotel and worked as a sous chef at the Carlton Savannah Hotel when Queen E stayed there in 2009. When the hotel closed\, I first started cooking for homeless people and then for children with additional needs. I became a mother figure for many of the kids and some of the older people. I have been volunteering for Praxis charity for the last year\, a charity that helps support people on their immigration journey. \nIn addition to cooking\, I am passionate about music\, dancing and laughing! SUMMARY:Sierra Leonean Cookery Class with Isatu |Veg Friendly|LONDON|Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Isatu will teach delicious\, authentic Sierra Leonean dishes followed by a sit-down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nSierra Leonean cuisine comes from West Africa and reflects the country’s rich cultural diversity and abundant natural resources. Meals combine rice\, legumes\, vegetables\, and spices\, often incorporating plantains and hearty stews. Cooking is hands-on\, social\, and meant to be shared\, with signature dishes like Jollof Rice\, Spinach Stew\, and Rice Arkara highlighting the warmth\, community\, and culinary creativity of Sierra Leonean food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Isatu: \n“I am Isatu from Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is a small country in West Africa bordered by Guinea\, Liberia and the Atlantic Ocean. I am a Fulani\, and my tribal identity is as important as my national identity. Sierra Leone is a culturally diverse country\, rich in a number of minerals including diamonds and gold. \nCooking has always been my passion. As a very young child\, I was already pretending to be a chef and made my siblings play along with this game. I started cooking for real when I was 12 years old at my mother’s side. She started by giving me simple tasks to do and gradually taught me how to prepare dishes properly. I am grateful that she shared her secret tips with me. \nI believe it is important to continuously develop oneself and in the importance of community. Putting these principles into practice\, I became a volunteer chef with the Red Cross and with Connect All Community\, cooking for over 60 people every week. \nI bring humour and joy to everything I do\, including my cookery classes. I am from Algiers the capital of Algeria\, in the North of the country on the Mediterranean Sea\, sandwiched between Tunisia and Morocco. \nAt home in Algeria\, I was the spoilt youngest child\, so the only cooking I did was ‘play cooking’ with my beloved Auntie\, who gave me miniature cooking equipment and encouraged me to copy her. At University\, I became more interested in food and started asking for recipes from my relatives. I also learnt to prepare sweets for Eid. I love to cook Algerian food that I’ve enjoyed eating and have an inbuilt instinct to replicate the flavours and smells of my childhood. \nIn Algeria\, I graduated from University in Computing management and Accounting. I came to the UK 15 years ago to join my husband who is my best friend’s cousin. We met when he was visiting my friend and fell in love! \nMigrateful has encouraged me to have more confidence to express myself and share my passion for Algerian food. I feel happy when cooking for people – feeding them delicious food is my love language and I get great pleasure when people enjoy eating what I’ve prepared. I look forward to cooking with you!” \n \nWe’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders: \n\nUnlike normal classes\, training classes cannot be booked using gift vouchers. We are also unable to accommodate any ticket transfers from non-training classes.\nPlease see our refund/cancellation policy: Migrateful Ticket Refund Policy | Migrateful\n\n\nPlease see our allergens policy here: Food and Allergens Policy\nWe recommend using a debit or credit card to pay (paypal takes 48 hours to be confirmed).
