SUMMARY:Indian Cookery Class with Jiwan | Veg Friendly| LONDON | Pop Up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Jiwan will teach you some of his favourite Indian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nIndian cuisine is extremely diverse\, shaped by centuries of regional traditions\, religion and trade. From the spice-rich curries of the north to the coconut-infused dishes of the south\, India’s food reflects a deep connection to heritage\, family\, and fresh ingredients. Jiwan’s dishes highlight the warmth and colour of Indian home cooking\, showcasing balanced spices\, comforting recipes\, and the joyful spirit of sharing food with others. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \n“I am Jiwan\, which means life. I have lived most of my life in Punjab\, India. It is a farmland state in the north of India and the name comes from five rivers which flowed through the region at one time.  \n \nMy journey is a bit unusual as it started from need\, rather than passion. I grew up in a big family and I learned by watching and trying. When my family was away\, I made my first dish\, similar to tacos\, which was well liked by my family after their return.  \n \nI believe cooking is a very important skill\, not a talent. Everyone can develop it\, given some time and effort! Finding a reason helps a lot and mine is making others happy and smile with my food. There are so many dishes from across India that make me happy – that is why my class focuses on a wider area of India than Punjab. \n \nThe time I have spent with Migrateful has been wonderful and fun. I have learnt so much about food and the world during my training! I hope this class teaches you something new which you can take home and spread that happiness.” \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n \n\nDosa (Savoury Indian Crepe) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nSamber (Braised Lentil and Drumstick Stew) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Mustard\, Peanuts                                                                                                     \nGoan Fish Curry | Fish (Cod); Fish\nAmritsari Chole (Chickpea Curry) | Vegetarian; Milk\, Mustard  \nEgg Curry | Vegetarian; Eggs                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       \nTikki Chat (Potato Patties with Chutneys and Yoghurt) | Vegetarian; Milk\, Mustard\, Sulphites                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          \nJeera Rice (Cumin Spiced Rice) | Vegan; None           \n\nThis menu contains fish (cod) but is vegetarian-friendly (6/7 dishes are meat-free). SUMMARY:Trinidadian Cookery Class with Michelle| Veg Friendly|LONDON|Pop
DESCRIPTION:Chef Michelle will teach you some of her favourite Trinidadian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nTrinidad and Tobago cuisine comes from the Caribbean and reflects the rich mix of African\, Indian\, European\, and Indigenous influences found across the islands. Dishes combine fresh seafood\, legumes\, spices\, tropical fruits\, and vegetables\, creating vibrant and flavourful meals. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Bake and Shark\, Pigeon Pea Pelau\, and Dhal Puri highlighting the warmth\, colour\, and communal spirit of Caribbean food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Michelle: \n“My name is Michelle. I am from the lovely island nation of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and I am the mother of two daughters. My cooking journey started over 25 years ago when I was just 10. My mother had to go to work\, leaving me to cook for my two younger siblings. At first\, I made some pretty awful dishes but with my mother’s help and encouragement\, I got better. At her suggestion\, I started cooking school and soon I was creating new dishes on my own. I then trained at the Trinidad and Tobago International Hilton Hotel and worked as a sous chef at the Carlton Savannah Hotel when Queen E stayed there in 2009. When the hotel closed\, I first started cooking for homeless people and then for children with additional needs. I became a mother figure for many of the kids and some of the older people. I have been volunteering for Praxis charity for the last year\, a charity that helps support people on their immigration journey. \nIn addition to cooking\, I am passionate about music\, dancing and laughing! Come to my class and experience a bit of T and T culture\, the flavours of Trinidad and have some fun!” \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTrini Bake and Shark | Fish (Pollock); Fish\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nDhal Puri Roti (Roti with Split Pea\, Spinach and Potato Filling)| Vegan; Gluten (Wheat)\nPigeon Pea Pelau | Vegan; Celery\nStewed Chicken | Meat (Chicken); None\nCorn Vegetable Soup | Vegan; `Celery\nMichelle’s Coleslaw\, Mango Chutney and Sauces| Vegetarian; Eggs\nCoconut Sugar Cake | Vegan; None\n\nThis menu contains meat (chicken) and fish (pollock) but is vegetarian friendly (5/7 dishes are meat-free). SUMMARY:Ecuadorian Cookery Class with Judith|Veg Friendly |LONDON| Pop up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nEcuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography\, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. It combines fresh seafood\, tropical fruits\, vegetables\, grains\, and spices to create vibrant\, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Ceviche\, Tigrillo\, and Empanadas highlighting the warmth\, creativity\, and communal spirit of Ecuadorian food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Judith: \n“My name is Judith\, and I am from Ecuador\, a beautiful country in South America. I grew up in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas\, an area located between the coast and the mountains\, so we had the best produce. I grew up in a big family where food and music were always part of our joy – we loved getting together\, sharing meals\, and dancing. In Ecuador\, you can find four seasons in one day by travelling from one part of the country to another\, and that means that you can experience many different types of food in the country. When I came to England\, I started to do some voluntary work in a ‘healthy living’ community group\, and I used to run a session on healthy eating – this is reflected in my menu today. Teaching others about Ecuadorian food helps me feel close to my country and reminds me that even far from home\, we can still celebrate who we are and connect with others through culture and food. Each dish I create carries the soul of my homeland that is inspired by the unique beauty of the Amazon\, where the jungle speaks and nature is sacred. My hands work with love\, honouring my roots and sharing a little piece of living nature with the world.” \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTwo Ceviche | Fish (Prawns) and Vegan; Celery\, Crustaceans\, Mustard\nTigrillo (Plantain Hash) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Milk\, Peanuts\nEstofado de Carne y Chocolate (Beef Stew with Chocolate) | Meat (Beef); Celery\nEstofado de Vegetales (Golden Vegetable Stew) | Vegan; Celery\nEmpanadas de Viento (Cheese-Filled Pastries) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nColada Morada (Warm Fruit Punch) | Vegan; None\n\nThis menu contains meat (beef) and fish (prawns) but is vegetarian-friendly (5/6 dishes are meat-free). SUMMARY:Algerian Cookery Class with Amel | LONDON | Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:In this session Amel will teach delicious\, authentic Algerian dishes followed by a sit-down\, family-style meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nAlgerian cuisine is a beautiful blend of North African\, Mediterranean\, and French influences — rich in spices\, seasonal vegetables\, slow-cooked stews\, and warm breads. From fragrant soups like Chorba Frik to comforting tagines and delicate pastries\, Algerian food is deeply social\, made to be shared\, and full of heritage. With flavours shaped by centuries of cultural exchange\, every dish tells a story of community\, generosity\, and home. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Amel: \nHi my name is Amel\, I am from Sidi Bel Abbes in Western Algeria. Our city is nicknamed ‘Petit Paris’ because there is a strong French influence. I wasn’t allowed to cook growing up because my parents wanted me to focus on my studies. I was a teacher in Algeria but wasn’t able to continue teaching when I moved to the UK in 2015. After I met my wonderful husband\, we quickly had children and I began to spend more time at home. During this time\, I realised my passion for cooking and baking. I cooked so much for my friends and family that they told me to stop as they feared they were getting fat. In the future\, I want to open my own bakery where I can share Algerian food and culture with people in London. Algeria is extremely multicultural and culturally rich\, which is something I am very proud of. I have always been a daydreamer and I really value the freedom to pursue my dreams here in the UK”. \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTagine Zitoun (Olive Tagine with Chicken and Meatballs) | Meat (Chicken and Lamb); Egg\, Gluten (Wheat)\nChorba Frik (Vegetable Soup with Freekah and Carraway) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Gluten (Wheat)\nBourek (Tuna Pastry Parcels with Cheese) | Fish (Tuna); Eggs\, Fish\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nRekhsas (Algerian Semolina and Nigella Seed Flatbread) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Milk\nSamsa b-louz (Fried Almond\, Sesame and Honey Pastries) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sesame\, Tree Nuts (Almonds)\n\nThis menu contains meat (chicken and lamb) and fish (tuna). SUMMARY:Saudi Arabian + Uyghur Cookery Class with Sana |Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Sana will teach delicious\, authentic Saudi Arabian and Uyghur dishes followed by a sit-down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nSaudi Arabian and Uyghur cuisine blends rich Middle Eastern spices with Central Asian traditions\, creating vibrant\, flavourful\, and comforting dishes. From hand-stretched noodles and dumplings to sweet sesame and date desserts\, the food is colourful\, social\, and made to be shared. Meals are deeply communal\, reflecting the warmth\, hospitality\, and culinary heritage of these cultures. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from chef Sana: \n“Hi\, My name is Sana. I moved here from Jeddah\, Saudi Arabia in 2013. I have lived the majority of my life there. Culturally I am Uyghur\, an ethnic Muslim minority located in Central Asia (now part of China called Xinjiang). The dishes I teach in my class are a mix of the two cultures I come from. I learned to cook from my Mum. She used to call my sisters and me to assist her with cooking. I was her main helper\, especially when it came to pulling noodles. \nWhen I was in high school and had our summer holiday\, my mum trusted me enough to cook for the family and I insisted she write me the recipes with every little detail. I got paid for it! My mum taught me to cook several cuisines from around the world but my favourites were Saudi & Uyghur. Even though I have explored hundreds of dishes living in London\, Laghman is the most delicious dish (In my personal opinion!)” \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nJawawa (Uyghur Dumplings filled with Lamb or Chard) | Meat (Lamb) and Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sulphites\nCrunchy Chilli & Garlic Oil | Vegan; None\nLaghman (Hand-stretched Noodles with Braised Vegetables) | Vegetarian; Celery\, Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Sulphites\nFoul Qulabah (Fava Bean Dip) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nLuqaimat Alqadi (Saudi Doughnuts with Sesame and Date Syrup) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Sesame\, Soya\n\nThis menu is mostly vegetarian but contains one dish with meat (lamb)\, with vegetarian filling options.
