Warm & easy\, like being with family!\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nOmani cuisine is deeply shaped by the country’s diverse geography\, from the fertile coastal plains along the Arabian Sea to the rugged mountains and vast desert interiors. My dad also loved to cook\, so I had two very good teachers. I improved my cooking skills through observing and working with chefs in my restaurant business. Now I’m in the UK\, I’m starting a new chapter and bringing with me the flavours of Oman. I hope to open my own restaurant business in London one day. Omani cuisine blends Asian influences with aromatic spices and herbs that bring warmth and depth to every dish\, like one of our dishes today\, ‘Makboos’. SUMMARY:(SOLD OUT)Sudanese Cookery Class with Eman | BRISTOL | Veg Friendly

From hearty lentil stews to freshly baked flatbreads\, every meal is made to be shared. In Sudan\, food is deeply social – a way to gather\, connect\, and strengthen community ties. The flavours are bold yet balanced\, with every dish reflecting the warmth and generosity of Sudanese culture. \n \n\n\n\n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from chef Eman: \n“My name is Eman\, I am from Sudan\, I was born in a city called Kasala. I joined Migrateful because I love cooking. I have my own baking business\, I bake cookies and sweets for the Sudanese community around the UK. My goal is one day to get my qualification to be an optician recognised in the UK. \nI learnt to cook from my eldest sister. When I was a child we used to play with an empty can\, leaves and rocks and pretend we were in the kitchen. Walking down the street in Sudan\, you can always smell cooking. Sudanese cuisine is very colourful and uses delicious spices like cinnamon and cumin. \nIn Sudan meals are always communal –the whole family or household share one large tray. Mealtimes are a very important time for connection and solving each others’ problems. You can’t feel lonely in a Sudanese home. This is the culture I want to share with you.” \n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nDamaa Gedad (Chicken Curry) | Meat (Chicken); Mustard\nMolah Adas (Lentil Curry) | Vegan; Mustard\, Celery\nSalata Aswad (Aubergine Salad) | Vegan; Peanut\, Sesame\, Milk\nTamya & Shata (Falafel with Green Chilli Sauce) | Vegan; Sesame\, Peanut\nGorasa (Sudanese Flatbread) | Vegan; Gluten (Wheat)\n\n \nThis menu contains meat (chicken) but is vegetarian-friendly (4 out of 5 dishes are meat-free).Allergens include: mustard\, celery\, peanut\, sesame\, milk\, gluten. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements so our team is aware ahead of the class.
