SUMMARY:Ecuadorian Cookery Class with Judith | Veg Friendly | LONDON|Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nEcuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography\, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. It combines fresh seafood\, tropical fruits\, vegetables\, grains\, and spices to create vibrant\, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Ceviche\, Tigrillo\, and Empanadas highlighting the warmth\, creativity\, and communal spirit of Ecuadorian food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Judith: \n“My name is Judith\, and I am from Ecuador\, a beautiful country in South America. I grew up in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas\, an area located between the coast and the mountains\, so we had the best produce. I grew up in a big family where food and music were always part of our joy – we loved getting together\, sharing meals\, and dancing. In Ecuador\, you can find four seasons in one day by travelling from one part of the country to another\, and that means that you can experience many different types of food in the country. When I came to England\, I started to do some voluntary work in a ‘healthy living’ community group\, and I used to run a session on healthy eating – this is reflected in my menu today. Teaching others about Ecuadorian food helps me feel close to my country and reminds me that even far from home\, we can still celebrate who we are and connect with others through culture and food. Each dish I create carries the soul of my homeland that is inspired by the unique beauty of the Amazon\, where the jungle speaks and nature is sacred. My hands work with love\, honouring my roots and sharing a little piece of living nature with the world.” \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTwo Ceviche | Fish (Prawns) and Vegan; Celery\, Crustaceans\, Mustard\nTigrillo (Plantain Hash) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Milk\, Peanuts\nEstofado de Carne y Chocolate (Beef Stew with Chocolate) | Meat (Beef); Celery\nEstofado de Vegetales (Golden Vegetable Stew) | Vegan; Celery\nEmpanadas de Viento (Cheese-Filled Pastries) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nColada Morada (Warm Fruit Punch) | Vegan; None\n\nThis menu contains meat (beef) and fish (prawns) but is vegetarian-friendly (5/6 dishes are meat-free). SUMMARY:Ecuadorian Cookery Class with Judith | Veg Friendly | LONDON| Pop up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nEcuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography\, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. I am from the lovely island nation of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and I am the mother of two daughters. My cooking journey started over 25 years ago when I was just 10. My mother had to go to work\, leaving me to cook for my two younger siblings. At first\, I made some pretty awful dishes but with my mother’s help and encouragement\, I got better. At her suggestion\, I started cooking school and soon I was creating new dishes on my own. I then trained at the Trinidad and Tobago International Hilton Hotel and worked as a sous chef at the Carlton Savannah Hotel when Queen E stayed there in 2009. When the hotel closed\, I first started cooking for homeless people and then for children with additional needs. I became a mother figure for many of the kids and some of the older people. I have been volunteering for Praxis charity for the last year\, a charity that helps support people on their immigration journey. \nIn addition to cooking\, I am passionate about music\, dancing and laughing! You’ll work together with other participants to prepare each of the dishes\, before sitting down to share a meal together. \nA message from our Chef Bon: \n“Hi my name is Bon and I grew up in Hong Kong\, a city where the smell of steaming bamboo baskets and roasting meats fills every street corner and where eating well is a serious matter of pride. \nGrowing up\, the highlight of every weekend was ‘Yum Cha’ (drinking Chinese tea with family); the whole family gathering around a round table\, aunties arguing over the last dim sum\, grandparents guiding the younger on how to pour tea properly and cousins sneaking extra eggs tarts before the meals was done. Those loud\, joyful mornings in a Cantonese tea house are some of my most treasured memories and they are the reason I cook the way I do. To me\, Yum Cha isn’t just a meal – it’s a ritual of gathering\, of generosity\, of saying ‘I love you’ through food. \nIn my class\, I want to bring that experience to you. We’ll take the humble home-cooked dishes of Hong Kong and lift them to the standard of a proper Cantonese tea house. You’ll learn the technique behind dishes that look simple\, but carry decades of tradition: how to fold a dumpling so the filling stays juicy\, how to balance sweet\, sour and umami the Cantonese way\, and how to recreate that Yum Cha feeling – wherever you are in the world. I can’t wait to share this culinary experience with you! ” \n \nWe’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders: \n\nUnlike normal classes\, training classes cannot be booked using gift vouchers. We are also unable to accommodate any ticket transfers from non-training classes.\nPlease see our refund/cancellation policy: Migrateful Ticket Refund Policy | Migrateful\n\n\nPlease see our allergens policy here: Food and Allergens Policy\nWe recommend using a debit or credit card to pay (paypal takes 48 hours to be confirmed).

Meals are hands-on\, social\, and meant to be shared\, with signature dishes like Shiro\, Zegny\, and Salata Bazinjan served communally on one plate\, highlighting the warmth\, creativity\, and togetherness of Eritrean food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF  \nA message from our Chef Wedad: \n“Hi\, my name is Wedad and I come from a town called Keran in south-west Eritrea. Eritrea is a beautiful country in East Africa and is surrounded by mountains and the Red Sea. I grew up with my grandmother\, who loved to cook and taught me all her recipes. My friends and I liked to cook our dishes for each other and so I also learnt how to cook other cuisines. My favourite dish is Salata Banzinjan\, an aubergine salad\, which I make in lots of different ways. Eritrean food is typically spicy and is served on one plate to be shared with the whole family. One of the things that we eat often is a fermented bread called injera\, which we have at lunchtime. Today\, we will be serving injera with Shiro and Salata Banzinjan. I came to the UK in 2012 and the biggest barrier I faced was the language. Now I study English at the Red Cross and one day we were writing about our favourite food. A few weeks later\, I brought in the dish that I wrote about – kebab – and my teacher and colleagues liked it so much\, she suggested I apply to join Migrateful! I am now a part of the Migrateful community and I hope you enjoy my Eritrean dishes in this class”. \n \n\n\n\nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nSalata Bazinjan (Aubergine Salad) | Vegan; Gluten (Wheat)\, Peanuts\, Sesame\nZegny (Spicy Chicken Stew) | Meat (Chicken); Celery\, Eggs\, Milk\nShiro | Vegetarian; Milk\nSambusa | Meat (Lamb) and Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nFul Medames | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\, Peanuts\, Sesame\nSalata Hamra (Rainbow Salad) | Vegan; None\nPeanut and Chilli Sauce | Vegan; Peanuts\n\nThis menu is served with Injera which may contain gluten. \nThis menu contains meat (chicken and lamb) but is vegetarian-friendly (6/7 dishes are meat-free or have meat-free filling options). Our city is nicknamed ‘Petit Paris’ because there is a strong French influence. I wasn’t allowed to cook growing up because my parents wanted me to focus on my studies. I was a teacher in Algeria but wasn’t able to continue teaching when I moved to the UK in 2015. After I met my wonderful husband\, we quickly had children and I began to spend more time at home. During this time\, I realised my passion for cooking and baking. I cooked so much for my friends and family that they told me to stop as they feared they were getting fat. In the future\, I want to open my own bakery where I can share Algerian food and culture with people in London. Meals combine rice\, legumes\, vegetables\, and spices\, often incorporating plantains and hearty stews. Cooking is hands-on\, social\, and meant to be shared\, with signature dishes like Jollof Rice\, Spinach Stew\, and Rice Arkara highlighting the warmth\, community\, and culinary creativity of Sierra Leonean food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Isatu: \n“I am Isatu from Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is a small country in West Africa bordered by Guinea\, Liberia and the Atlantic Ocean. I am a Fulani\, and my tribal identity is as important as my national identity. Sierra Leone is a culturally diverse country\, rich in a number of minerals including diamonds and gold. \nCooking has always been my passion. As a very young child\, I was already pretending to be a chef and made my siblings play along with this game. I started cooking for real when I was 12 years old at my mother’s side. She started by giving me simple tasks to do and gradually taught me how to prepare dishes properly. I am grateful that she shared her secret tips with me. \nI believe it is important to continuously develop oneself and in the importance of community. Putting these principles into practice\, I became a volunteer chef with the Red Cross and with Connect All Community\, cooking for over 60 people every week. \nI bring humour and joy to everything I do\, including my cookery classes. It’s a district town and I grew up there near a river. I have travelled a lot in Bangladesh\, it’s a beautiful country with many landscapes from the Sundarbans forest to Saint Martins Island to the hill stations of Khagrachari and Cox’s Bazaar with a long sand beach. \nI went to university in Sylhet and there I started cooking by myself because I missed home cooking. I kept cooking for my friends and neighbours. The first time I cooked biriyani\, I called my mum! When I was growing up\, having guests over was very normal. A minimum of 2 or 3 people\, sharing tea and snacks\, and sending food for people. \nIn the morning\, we would buy fresh groceries\, especially fresh-water fish. Fish is a common staple in Bengali cuisine\, you’ll find it at every table. As well as this\, a few different curries – lentils\, meat and rice. Today we will cook a few dishes – food is a connector and a way to make friends\, I hope we can do this today! ” \n \nWe’re excited to have you in the class! SUMMARY:Trinidadian Cookery Class with Michelle| Veg Friendly | LONDON | Pop up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Michelle will teach you some of her favourite Trinidadian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nTrinidad and Tobago cuisine comes from the Caribbean and reflects the rich mix of African\, Indian\, European\, and Indigenous influences found across the islands. Dishes combine fresh seafood\, legumes\, spices\, tropical fruits\, and vegetables\, creating vibrant and flavourful meals. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Bake and Shark\, Pigeon Pea Pelau\, and Dhal Puri highlighting the warmth\, colour\, and communal spirit of Caribbean food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Michelle: \n“My name is Michelle.
