SUMMARY:(SOLD OUT) Ecuadorian Cookery Class with Judith|Veg Friendly|LONDON| Pop up
DESCRIPTION:Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nEcuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography\, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. It combines fresh seafood\, tropical fruits\, vegetables\, grains\, and spices to create vibrant\, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and made to be shared\, with signature dishes like Ceviche\, Tigrillo\, and Empanadas highlighting the warmth\, creativity\, and communal spirit of Ecuadorian food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from our Chef Judith: \n“My name is Judith\, and I am from Ecuador\, a beautiful country in South America. I grew up in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas\, an area located between the coast and the mountains\, so we had the best produce. I grew up in a big family where food and music were always part of our joy – we loved getting together\, sharing meals\, and dancing. In Ecuador\, you can find four seasons in one day by travelling from one part of the country to another\, and that means that you can experience many different types of food in the country. When I came to England\, I started to do some voluntary work in a ‘healthy living’ community group\, and I used to run a session on healthy eating – this is reflected in my menu today. Teaching others about Ecuadorian food helps me feel close to my country and reminds me that even far from home\, we can still celebrate who we are and connect with others through culture and food. Each dish I create carries the soul of my homeland that is inspired by the unique beauty of the Amazon\, where the jungle speaks and nature is sacred. My hands work with love\, honouring my roots and sharing a little piece of living nature with the world.” \n \n\n\n\n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nTwo Ceviche | Fish (Prawns) and Vegan; Celery\, Crustaceans\, Mustard\nTigrillo (Plantain Hash) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Milk\, Peanuts\nEstofado de Carne y Chocolate (Beef Stew with Chocolate) | Meat (Beef); Celery\nEstofado de Vegetales (Golden Vegetable Stew) | Vegan; Celery\nEmpanadas de Viento (Cheese-Filled Pastries) | Vegetarian; Eggs\, Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nColada Morada (Warm Fruit Punch) | Vegan; None\n\nThis menu contains meat (beef) and fish (prawns) but is vegetarian-friendly (5/6 dishes are meat-free). She passed away and I think of her often when I cook the recipes she taught me. \nI love to cook and feed people. I like to create new recipes and try new ingredients from my country like cassava leaves\, fumbua and green beans from Goma. My favourite foods to cook are fish and all kinds of meat and vegetables because I believe they prevent illness. SUMMARY:(SOLD OUT) Palestinian Cookery Class with Dr. Amna| LONDON | Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Amna will teach delicious\, authentic Palestinian dishes followed by a sit-down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nPalestinian cuisine has a rich culinary history shaped by agriculture\, trade\, and centuries of cultural exchange. From Gaza’s fresh seafood to the fertile hills of the West Bank producing olive oil\, herbs\, and vegetables\, Palestinian food is vibrant\, seasonal\, and full of flavour. Dishes like Sayadieh (seafood rice)\, stuffed vine leaves\, and crispy flatbreads are made to be shared\, highlighting the social\, hands-on nature of meals. Every dish reflects the warmth\, generosity\, and heritage of Palestinian culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF \nA message from chef Amna: \n“My name is Amna from Gaza\, Palestine and I came to the UK in the winter of 2022. In Gaza\, I was a university lecturer in psychology for 20 years and a director of a charity supporting mothers and children. I have 5 children: 2 daughters who still live in Gaza\, a son and daughter in Canada and a son in London. \nAs a young woman\, I lived in Libya. I married there\, brought up my children and achieved my degree and my Masters. Libya’s sky seemed open to my dreams and I was very happy there. \nWhen I first arrived in the UK\, I had nothing here and felt lonely and ashamed. I am thankful to have become part of the Migrateful family. Migrateful has helped me feel more positive and I am happy to share my food and my culture. \nWhen I cook I always think of my mother. I don’t use recipes but cook by a sense I inherited from her. My mother and father always talked about their life before Gaza – I have never been to their home in Ashdod but I feel I know it. My father caught fish\, and they always had fresh vegetables from the countryside. I am passionate about making healthy and nutritious food. It is so important for our lives and our physical and mental health. Our city is nicknamed ‘Petit Paris’ because there is a strong French influence. I wasn’t allowed to cook growing up because my parents wanted me to focus on my studies. During this time\, I realised my passion for cooking and baking. I cooked so much for my friends and family that they told me to stop as they feared they were getting fat. In the future\, I want to open my own bakery where I can share Algerian food and culture with people in London. I am from eastern Turkey\, although at university I met people from other regions and learnt about various different cultures and recipes. \nI grew up in a big city with my three older sisters\, who were already helping my mum in the kitchen. I was always asking\, ‘Please can I help?’ and by the time I went to university\, I had learned to cook simply by watching them. \nEvery summer\, I loved visiting my mum’s family in the village. They grew and cooked their own vegetables\, and I spent hours with my grandma learning to make yoghurt and cheese — traditions I still keep for my own family today. \nBig meals at home with family and friends were an important part of our lives. We cooked in huge pots\, sharing both food and stories. Turkish food traditions are incredibly varied\, full of dishes for every occasion — from simple home meals to great family feasts.” \n \nON THE MENU (subject to change): \n\nKarniyarik (Fried Aubergine with Lamb Mince) | Meat (Lamb)\nImam Bayildi (Stuffed Fried Aubergine) | Vegan\nSarma (Stuffed Vine Leaves) | Vegan\nKisir (Bulgur Wheat Salad) | Vegan; Gluten (Wheat)\nHaydari (Yoghurt and Cucumber Dip) | Vegetarian; Milk\, Tree Nuts (Walnuts)\nPilav (Turkish-style Rice with Vermicelli) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Milk\nPişi (Fried Bread) | Vegetarian; Gluten (Wheat)\, Eggs\, Milk\n\n \nThis menu contains meat (lamb) but is vegetarian-friendly\, with 6 of 7 dishes meat-free. SUMMARY:Iranian Cookery Class with Raha | Veg Friendly | LONDON |Cookery School
DESCRIPTION:Chef Raha will teach you some of her favourite Iranian dishes followed by a sit down meal.\n\n\nABOUT THE CUISINE \nIranian cuisine comes from the Middle East and Central Asia\, shaped by a rich history of Persian culture\, regional diversity\, and trade along the Silk Road. It combines fresh herbs\, grains\, legumes\, fruits\, nuts\, and spices to create balanced and aromatic dishes. Meals are hands-on\, social\, and meant to be shared\, with signature dishes like Polo Shoshtari\, Nahavandi Aubergine Stew\, and Gilani Sour Kebab highlighting the warmth\, community\, and culinary creativity of Iranian food culture. \n \nABOUT THE CHEF  \nA message from our Chef Raha: \n“I am Raha and I come from Nahavand\, a small city in the centre of Iran. In the UK\, you have English\,Scottish\, Welsh and Irish people. In Iran\, we have Turkish\, Arab\, Kurdish and Lorish people. I am Lorish. When I was nine\, my mum went to work and didn’t have time to cook\, so I cooked for her. From a young age\, I would change recipes. I still do! My children ask me what a dish is called\, but I have often just created it\, so it does not have a name! Food is very important in my country. We consider food to be part of the joy of life;it is not just for survival. A meal should not only be the taste\, it should be how it looks\, how it smells and how it feels. I arrived in the UK in January 2024 with my husband and two daughters. At first\, I was worried about everything\, but I have found that British people are very kind. Someone referred me to Migrateful\, and here I am today. I want to share my country’s delicious recipes.
