Kent Chef Training Programme Volunteers
Migrateful are running a new Chef Training Programme in Kent and we are looking for volunteers to support our training sessions!
The training sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be split into 2 parts. The first 7 weeks will take place online and the final 3 weeks will be run in person in Kent. We need volunteers for both the online and in person sessions. If you can do both even better!
What we are looking for:
Volunteers for online training sessions:
Online training sessions will be held on Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:45am – 2pm from 25th May – 8th July. As this part of the course is remote, volunteers can be based anywhere.
Volunteers will be asked to support chefs to carry out tasks and activities in both groups and breakout rooms on Zoom.
Tasks will include:
- Writing up recipes
- Writing chef bios and stories
- Writing class plans
- Completing Food Hygiene Level 2 qualifications
- General participation, support and enthusiasm in training sessions.
- General conversation and support with speaking, reading & writing English.
- Eating delicious food!
Volunteers for in person training sessions:
In person training sessions will run every Tuesday and Thursday in Kent from 11am-3pm from 13th-29th July. Location is still TBC and will be based on where the majority of chefs are based in Kent. Please register your interest for the in person sessions and we will update you with the location as soon as possible.
Tasks will be as above but also include:
- Helping to set up the room
- Shopping for ingredients
- Washing up and clearing down
The more regularly you can volunteer the better as it helps with planning and keeps things consistent for the chefs but don’t worry if you can’t do all the dates, we would still love to hear from you!
If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved please contact Regional Development Manager, Kate Edwards, email@example.com
with a little about yourself, your availability and why you would like to volunteer.
