Classes
What is family-style cooking?
Family-style cooking classes are a collaborative way of cooking and eating together. Instead of each person making their own individual dish, the group splits into small teams or cooking stations, with each team responsible for different parts of the meal, for example starters, mains, sides, or desserts. Everyone contributes to creating the final spread, which is then shared together at the end of the class.
Our family-style classes are 2.5 hours long, including time to cook, learn, and enjoy the meal together.
Where do the classes take place?
Our classes take place across London and Bristol and are hosted across a range of venues, from purpose-built kitchens to local community spaces.
What should I bring with me to a class?
Aprons will not be provided – please make sure to bring your own. We encourage you to also bring takeaway containers in case there are any leftovers at the end of the class.
Will I receive the recipes to take home?
Yes, all participants are emailed the recipes shortly after the class so you can recreate the dishes at home. If you can not find them please be sure to check your spam folder.
Can I book a group in a public class?
If your group is 4 or more people you will be subject to our Group Booking Terms & Conditions. Refunds or transfers for group bookings are only offered if notification is given at least 14 days before the class date. If you would like to organise a bespoke group class you can enquire here.
Do you offer online classes?
No, all our classes are in-person at our London and Bristol Cookery Schools and community spaces.
When will more class dates be added to the website?
We publish our calendar 4 – 8 weeks in advance. If the date you wish to book is not yet listed, please check back in a couple of weeks.

Dietary Requirements & Allergens
Public Classes
Can you share your allergen information?
When present the 14 allergens are outlined on Eventbrite class menus ahead of booking and in class on matrices. However we strongly recommend you always check the product packaging in our cookery classes and speak to your facilitator if you are concerned about particular allergens. Participants attend classes at their own risk.
If I have a trace or airborne allergy should I attend a class?
Ingredients used in our classes contain, may contain, or may have been manufactured/prepared on shared equipment with the 14 allergens. We cannot guarantee that any food or drink prepared or consumed in any of the Migrateful Cookery Classes are free from any of the 14 allergens, or any other ingredient. Migrateful’s Cookery Classes are hosted in our busy cookery school or in external venues that handle allergens. Even in classes where allergens are not used, the ingredients for the class may have been stored in close proximity to allergens and other ingredients, and/or equipment and surfaces may have previously come into contact with allergens and other ingredients. Participants attend classes at their own risk.
I have an allergy or food intolerance, can you remove or substitute ingredients?
We cannot remove or substitute any ingredients in our public classes, nor can we guarantee that any of our cookery classes are free of any specific ingredient. Read our Food and Allergens Policy.
I have a dietary requirement, can you remove or substitute an ingredient for me?
We are unable to accommodate dietary requirements or allergies in our public classes. We take care to clearly highlight the dietary suitability of the class menu or dishes (vegan, vegetarian, contains meat, contains fish) and list allergies present. We recommend you only book into classes which suit your dietary requirements. You are welcome to join a class and skip out on any dishes that do not suit your dietary requirements.
Do any of your classes use alcohol in the cooking?
Very few chefs use alcohol in their menu, if they do this is outlined on their class event page.
Is the meat used in your classes halal?
All classes (other than those containing pork) cook using Halal meat.
What does vegan-friendly or vegetarian-friendly mean?
If a menu contains a good selection of vegan or vegetarian dishes that will leave a vegan or vegetarian feeling full and satisfied, the menu is marked vegan-friendly or vegetarian-friendly. You are welcome to join a class and skip out on any dishes that do not suit your dietary requirements. Please note we do not offer any form of substitutions to accommodate dietary requirements.
