For the purpose of this policy we refer to the following definitions:
- Migrateful Cookery Classes: includes the following class types; Team Style, Family Style, Station Style, Cookery Demo;
- Food allergen: substance in food that can cause an allergic reaction. We are legally required to state whether our recipes contain 14 common allergens: celery; cereals containing gluten; crustaceans; eggs; fish; lupin; milk; molluscs; mustard; peanuts; sesame; soybeans; sulphur dioxide and sulphites; and tree nuts (the 14 allergens). You may be allergic to other ingredients, but we are only legally required to declare the 14 allergens listed here;
- Food allergy: an adverse reaction to a food allergen that involves the immune system and can be a potentially life-threatening condition;
- Food intolerance: intolerance to an ingredient that is generally not life-threatening but can make someone feel very ill or affect their long-term health;
- Dietary requirements: personal preferences in relation to food consumption that do not include a food allergy or food intolerance, but which are for religious, environmental, moral, ethical, lifestyle, health reasons.
Ingredients used in our classes contain, may contain, or may have been manufactured/prepared on shared equipment with the 14 allergens listed above. We cannot guarantee that any food or drink prepared or consumed in any of the Migrateful Cookery Classes are free from any of the 14 allergens, or any other ingredient. Migrateful’s Cookery Classes are hosted in our busy cookery school or in external venues that handle allergens. Even in classes where allergens are not used, the ingredients for the class may have been stored in close proximity to allergens and other ingredients, and/or equipment and surfaces may have previously come into contact with allergens and other ingredients. Participants attend classes at their own risk.
To assist you in booking a Migrateful Cookery Class, we provide the following information:
- allergens on our recipes and the sample class menu. These are subject to change due to brand/availability of ingredients; and
- the dietary suitability of the class (vegan, vegetarian, contains meat, contains fish). We mark some menus as ‘vegetarian friendly’ or ‘vegan friendly’ if the menu includes at least 50% vegetarian or vegan recipes that will leave you feeling full and satisfied.
It is the responsibility of each participant to:
- read this policy and check the FAQs on our website;
- carefully select the Migrateful Cookery Class you want to attend taking into account the menu and this policy;
- contact us if you have any concerns about a particular allergen or ingredient before booking the class;
- d. at the time of booking to assist us in running the class, inform us of any food allergies or intolerances that you, and any other participants you have booked for, have. However, we cannot alter menus or ingredients for public classes;
- confirm any allergies or intolerances to the class facilitator when you arrive for your cookery class;
- if you attend a class in place of the original ticket holder, notify us in advance of the class of any food allergies or intolerances; and
- avoid any food you are allergic or intolerant to.
If you do not discuss concerns with us at the time of booking and proceed to attend a class that you find to be unsuitable, we are unable to offer a refund.
We accept no responsibility for any food you take home from a Migrateful Cookery Class to be consumed by you or others.
Food prepared during our classes is shared and eaten together by all participants. For this reason, we are unfortunately unable to substitute ingredients with products that you have brought from home.
