Poonam

Punjab, India

Hi my name is Poonam, I’m from the Punjab in India. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 yrs old when I started to learn to make parathas with my grandmother. I’d been playing with the flour and water making a big mess and she said that I might as well learn how to turn it into dough!   We’ll be making stuffed potato parathas in my class as it remains one of my favourite things to eat.

More About My Story

I learnt to appreciate good food spending each summer in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh at my Nani’s house.  Those are some of my happiest memories, playing with my cousins and eating delicious food cooked in traditional mud wood-fired ovens.
