Sahar
My name is Sahar and I am Iranian, my language is Persian. My ancestors have taught me that my thoughts should always be good, my words should be good, and my behavior should be good. My country is a piece of heaven where my mother breathes and misses me. It has four seasons in one day. It has high and beautiful mountains, many lakes and rivers. I came to England 3 years ago with my two children. In Iran, cooking is very important in our culture, food carries a lot of value and we respect ingredients. Many Iranian dishes include rice and meat and it was a surprise when I came here to find that people don’t always eat meat nor love rice. I was also surprised by how much potato people eat – mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, boiled potatoes and stewed potatoes!

More About My Story
I applied to Migrateful last year and waited for a year. At first, I was nervous because I was worried about my English language, but they helped me and I have improved and realised it is not a big deal. In my class, we will play music and eat Iranian food – I hope you feel warm and welcomed, and leave with a happy experience!
