Charity
My name is Charity. I am of Nigerian origin and part of the Igbo/Igo people (an ethnic group in Nigeria). I was born in Lagos but have been living in the UK for the past 10 years and this is home now. I’m the mother of three girls, age 23, seven and four and live with them and my husband in London. My husband is also a chef. My girls keep me busy! My mother died when I was very little and I was brought up by my grandmother who was my backbone. She gave me courage and wisdom to become something in life. She always told me how smart I was and I have always been the first person to ask a question.

More About My Story
My grandmother also taught me how to cook. I come from a big family and love nothing more than cooking for them. I’m always pushed into the kitchen by all my family who love my food. Outside food I love watching films, particularly horror films and comedies. As well as cooking, I love dancing and music and am going to play some Nigerian music in my Migrateful classes, so feel free to dance along. I heard about Migrateful through another charity called WINGS which supports women and children that don’t have status in the UK. I cook for the staff and volunteers at WINGS and my jollof rice is very popular there.
