Faten

Syrian

My name is Faten, I am from the Syrian city of Homs. I was born in Homs and lived there all my life. Homs is famous for Palmyra which is an ancient city dating back to the Neolithic period. I am married with three children and I am a housewife. I have been living in the UK for three and a half years. I enjoy reading children’s stories which helps me with my English. In Syria I enjoyed playing tennis.

More About My Story

My Mum taught me to cook after I married. I married when I was young. I used to call my Mum to get her to help me with recipes. But sometimes when she wasn’t home, I had to cook by myself. I remembered ingredients and the taste and I experimented until I was happy. I enjoy working with Migrateful because I have made new friends and I like cooking and trying different foods.
